Ridley Scott’s Aliens will finally have a direct sequel, albeit in videogame form, when Gearbox Software’s Aliens: Colonial Marines releases next February. Today, we’ve received the first installment in a new video series offering an inside look at the game’s development.
The video features Gearbox President Randy Pitchford along with members of the development team as they discuss the lengths the studio has gone through to ensure an authentic Aliens experience. From meetings with Scott and in-depth studies of the original movies story-boards to fan-feedback and persistent tweaking, Colonial Marines strives to be one of the few movie-to-game transitions done right. Aliens: Colonial Marines will feature drop-in/drop-out co-op support, and is currently set to launch on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on February 12.
